This city is still the place of artisan's activities and they have received an honorary doctorate from UNESCO in 10 cases of the originality of good quality and 73 national badges for good quality of handicrafts. This province is the symbol of Iranian pottery and woodcarving. The center of pottery is Lalejin in Hamedan province and the town of woodcarving is Malayer, where is also located in Hamedan province, Tooserkan is one of the important centers of woodcarving as well. In general Hamedan province is symbol of art and thought during the history, many great people became popular from this city.

According to the latest statistics, the number of workshops in this province is 22401, with 43646 personnel. Up to now, 21 of these handicrafts are nationally registered. Many professional artists and artisans who have lived in this province have made valuable manual arts.
